COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

pours hazy amber colour with a creamy head and some lacing. nose reminds of a wit/weizen: banana, almond, caramel, yeast, some hops even. complex flavour. herbal liqueur, caramel, nuts, prunes. quite sweet, but also slightly acidic and bitter. alcohol warmth. good carbonation, oily mouthfeel, floral finish.

A big quad gorgeous dark amber heavy sweet brown sugar aroma. Mid to high carbonation like a champagne. A very simple yet classic trappist style ale. Alcohol very well hidden. Nice and worth a try.

Beautiful beer. Its creation reminds of good summer or autumn nights with a slight taste of perfection. Tastes may varies. Cheers!

Draft. Colored like marzipan, hazy, with a pillowy head of light tan. The aroma is brilliant and complex: banana, almond, baked bread, maple, raisin. It’s sweet-smelling and beautiful. This transcendence is almost replicated in the flavor, though here there’s more raisin, booze and bitterness. The candy-like sweetness is still there, playing off smooth banana notes and a background of bread crust. Body is a creamy medium with moderate, peppery carbonation. My favorite quadrupel, and it’s not even a contest.

bottle at home. amber very hazy / light cloudy color. gusher. small off-white head. smelly liqueurish, dried fruits, sweetness, plums, lightly citric, lightly alcoholic. quite nice smell. full body, quite little carbonation (probably because the beer came gushing out the bottle), full rather soft mouthfeel. tastes quite alcoholic, citric, yeasty, malty sweetness, dried fruits, plums, oranges. alcoholic / fruity finish. quite good, liked the smell a bit better than the taste. taste is a bit too alcoholic for me. overall quite good.
