4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 pjames317 (18) - Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 5, 2012Pours a deep auburn with good foamy head. Smells of bready malt, yeast and booze. Is a sticky beer, probably from the use of Belgian candied sugars. Exquisite ale with properties similar to port; a good after-dinner quaff. Tastes of prune, black cherry, tart, sticky sweetness, boozy yeast and an obvious inclusion of big aforementioned bready malt. A well balanced beer. I liked the original version better than the oak aged Quad that La Trappe offers for almost 2x the price! Always seem to come back to this one. One of my favorites.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 Landmonger (112) - USA - JUN 14, 2013
Poured from a bottle into a trappist glass, it is a nice reddish brown in color, nice velvety head, the aroma is very nice fruity with possible fig, raisin, caramel, feels very smooth feel of the carbonation. Nice warmth of alcohol it really is a pleasure to drink. A really wonderful beer.

Pours light brown with large bubble head. Flavors of bananas, vanilla, bread, ginger with healthy alcohol warmth on the back end. Good, but not my favorite Trappist.

Some sediment present inside of a red amber colour. Muted aroma but there is some belgian esters, bannana peel and malts. Boozy beer with a yeasty and banana flavour profile but I find this one this, especially for the style.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Abijen (270) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 11, 2013
Pours a copper beer with a not very long lasting white head. Smells pretty good. Sweet tones. Taste starts a bit to sweet for me but changes into something better. Don’t like the texture and the carbo.

Trinity Hall - Not bad. Definitely something you take your time with. Very strong. Not for amateurs.

750ml bottle. Dark amber pour with lots of suspended particles. A lot of yeast esters and deep sweet maltiness. The palate has lots of stewed fruit and the yeast still plays a big part in the flavour profile. Finishes slightly warm.
