Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

On tap in "La casa the la cerveza" in Madrid. Hazy brown colour with a nice creamy head. Aroma consists of caramel, some tropical fruits maybe, some candy sugar and belgiam yeast. Flavour also brings along oak, wood and a more presant caramel taste. It has good a bit sharp mouthfeel at first, but then it smoothens up soft, suiting carbonation. The alcohol is not notable in the aroma nor the flavour. I can sense some bitterness in the aftertaste, really good. Overall a top scoring beer in my opinion.

Decent Quadrupel but rather plain and ordinary. Probably worst I tried Aroma and taste is typical for this amazing style. MAybe I just expected more from this brewery. Gonna try barrel aged brew

Better than tripel. Stronger and more palate than tripel. High Alcohol and weak taste balance have not been pleasant to me. Despite been a good beer, i was expecting more from La Trape.

Visual: Reinforced twisty top, synthetic cork, hefty bottle. Pours light blood red with a small dissipating head, ringed retention, suspended large sediment, slow and fast steady streams. Nose: carrot cake, caramelized brown sugar, sweet dark malts. (lvl-7)-pungency Attack: thick-full, incoming dark fruity christmas cake Mid-palate: (lvl-8)-sweetness, sour-alcohol hit, fizzy-bubbly, (MAIN) carrot cake, brandy, caramelized brown sugar malts Finish: cola, alcoholic, mild alcoholic heat, sweet brandy finish. Summary: Lots of caramelized sugar, brown cake flavour mixed with a pretty stealth alcohlic hit.

Lively amber/orange color with big present carbonation, head is small but constant. Aroma of some dried fruits. You can taste it is strong and sweet, but there isn’t alcohol taste in it. Full body, lively carbonation. Really good and full bodied beer.

The best La Trappe beer of them all. Dark and complex, strong but subtle. A strong recommendation!

Average off-white head mid retention. Foggy orangish-amber colour. Aroma is fruity (banana), caramel, yeast, sweet spices. Taste is caramel, spices (clove?), fruit (banana, peach) with alcohol presence.

Meget spændende øl, der absolut er en god oplevelse. Lækker smag. Lidt for høj alkoholprocent.

This quad tastes lighter than the tripel and dubbel, probably due to a heavy dose of sugar. This makes it very drinkable for a quad. Dark amber, and much lighter in color than all quads I remember. The complexity is less than the best examples, such as Westvleteren, Rochefort or StBernardus. This yeast is the most "banany" of all belgian yeasts. Aromas of banana, caramel, toast, spicy phenols. Flavors of banana, caramel, chocolate, toast, spicy phenols. Dry effervescent finish.

Goodness .... brew day for me and this is what comes out. A fantastic example if the style. Aroma of a sour or saison .... Tart. The pour is dark amber with a relatively president light tan head. The flavor is full and complex caramel ..... This is a fabulous example of what I like from a Quad .... worth a try! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
