COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

Beautifully complex aroma of yeast, purple fruits, brown sugar, and bubble gum. Thick head lasts and lasts with tight, small bubbles everywhere. Taste is a mix of raisins, brown sugar, roastiness, caramel, berries, booze, and bread. A very fine quad - not too acidic or alcoholic in character - just the right balance. May like this better than St. B, but not as much as Rochefort. Would love to do a blind taste testing someday!

Light for the alcohol content. Well balanced malt & yeast tastes. A hint of dried fruit & spice with a concentration on the clean taste. Excellent. Rated by BrewTom

Farbe: helles Rot-Braun. Leicht trüb. Weißer Schaum, der schnell zerfällt.  Aroma: süß, etwas Banane, Likör, Malz Geschmack : im Antrunk süß, Fruchtsaft, Beerenlikör, malzig. Runder Körper. Alkoholisch und dennoch leicht zu trinken.  Sehr stimmiges Bier für kalte Tage

Bottle 330ml. Cloudy bronze with medium creamy beige head and lots of sediments. Very fruity aroma (peach, pear), yeasty and milky, notes of caramel and dried fruits. Sweet flavor, lots of fruitiness, yeasty and creamy, notes of milk chocolate and caramel, some spiciness, light sourness, quite alcoholic with sweetish sticky finish. Moderate carbonation, creamy texture. Full-bodied.

Prezentacja: bursztynowe, przejrzyste, niezbyt obfita drobna piana opada do kożucha, ładnie koronkuje ;
Aromat: słodowy, owocowy, żelazisty, lekko alkoholowy, rumowy, po zabełtaniu uderza owocowo i kwiatowo ;
Smak: słodki mocno owocowy (brzoskwinie, morele, śliwki), potem skórzany, stajenny ;
Odczucie: pełne, gładkie, całkiem solidnie nasycone, brak goryczki, finisz z nutą skórzaną, alkohol grzeje w przełyk ;

Pours a ruby red with a thin white head that settles in the middle. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg. Quite a malty backbone, cinnamon on the tip and a hint of port.

Rated from beer log from 2009 Belgian Trip.... 1995 Vintage enjoyed in Antwerp... Brown caramel in color, slight white foamy head... Aroma is powerful, very nutty in character... Flavor is amazing, not sweet but nutty, very easy to drink, alcohol content is amazingly well concealed from aging... Palate is extremely neutral, not bitter, not sweet, but kind of nutty... Very interesting beer, intriguing how this has aged...

Head disappears to a durable ring. Aroma is very close to witbier (sic!) and the beer tastes lighter than it actually is. It’s warming and of sophisticated mouthfeel. In a blind test I’d rather say it’s tripel than quadrupel.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thin head. Aroma is zesty yeast and dark fruit. Flavor is fruity and roasted caramel, but thin.
