COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The strongest of the special beers. Its flavor is full, mild and pleasantly bitter. Quadrupel is presently available in the autumn, is bottled by the year and is perfect company for those long winter evenings.

Beautifully complex aroma of yeast, purple fruits, brown sugar, and bubble gum. Thick head lasts and lasts with tight, small bubbles everywhere. Taste is a mix of raisins, brown sugar, roastiness, caramel, berries, booze, and bread. A very fine quad - not too acidic or alcoholic in character - just the right balance. May like this better than St. B, but not as much as Rochefort. Would love to do a blind taste testing someday!

Poured into a goblet. "19:14" and "K17L10" on the bottle, if that means anything. 3.5 A: Murky orange mahogany color. One finger of creamy off-white head. Retention is okay for the ABV and a short ring of lacing is left. 4.5 S: Wonderful nose on this. Earthy and fruity - prototypical of the region. Dates, figs, plums, prunes, raisin, and tobacco. Light pepper and clove yeastiness. "Clean" earthiness. All the aromas blend together really well. Quite impressed. 3.75 T: Tastes like the nose, except that it’s much, much earthier. Usually I wouldn’t mind this, but it distracts from the fruitiness. Fruits mentioned above with a light spicy yeastiness. Still good. 4.0 M: Lighter medium body. Pleasant, spritzy carbonation. Smooth. 3.75 D: Tasty beer. I was in the mood for something just like this. Serving type: bottle 01-31-2013 07:08:56

Bottle at Kaisla, Helsinki. Pours reddish brown with a medium-sized head that leaves lacing. Sweet aroma of raisin, ripe fruitiness, caramel maltiness and a little spiciness. Taste is medium sweet and very malty: malts and yeast provide the flavours in this ale. It is full of sweet malts and fruity and yeasty notes - especially caramel and raisin are strong. Delightfully full and smooth palate. A hint of alcohol in the long, rich finish doesn’t ruin much - this is a top quality beer with rich malt profile and a balanced, full palate.

What a quad should be. A crisp Trappist Quad. The color is a light amber. Delicious bit of yeast flavor. You have a trace flavor of the alcohol. Let this beer warm to about 45 to 50 degrees to let the aroma out. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The body has a dark copper colour that is slightly hazy with some bigger particles. The egg-white head isn’t big, but after it has settled as a very thin layer it’s fully lasting, and the lacing is excellent. The aroma is very strong, sweet and complex. I get delicious notes of Belgian yeast, dark dried fruits, spices and caramel. Moderate to heavy sweet taste with a moderate bitter everlasting finish. Strong flavours with lots of caramel, dark dried fruits (but not as dark as other quads, not as intensely raisiny), dark candi sugar and pleasant vinous notes. Also honey and spices in the back. Perfect mouthfeel with a full body and oily texture. The carbonation is lively, but the bubbles are so infinitesimally small that it still feels lovely smooth. A stunning quad!

Murky brownish-amber. At the start of the glass the alcohol seems poorly hidden, but it seems to improve as it goes on. Smells tasty, like brown sugar and some fruit. Has that funky belgian Trappist yeast flavour. Raisiny sweetness, which fades into a bit of sourness and ends on a bitter note. Not my favourite quad, but not too bad, definitely gets better as it warms up... and as the alcohol takes effect.

Bottle 0,33L. Hazy amber colour with a finger of creamy beige head and lively visible carbonation. Nice aroma of caramel, herbs, dark fruits, brown sugar and roasted malts. Medium to full body, oily texture, moderate bitter taste and heavy bitter aftertaste with dark fruits feeling on tongue. Alcohol warms a little, but it’s not overhelming.
