The is some foam left in the glass, and the colour is hazy mahogany. The taste includes oak and grapes. It’s quite dry, but it could be a lot stronger. The finish has a warmingly alcoholic touch to it, which raises the grades for this one. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA

VeryBelgian aroma: yeast, fruit, sweet malts, a slight sourness. Flavor is sweet malt, apricot, yeast, and banana bread with a warm alcohol burn. Fizzy mouthfeel due to high carbonation. Very flavorful, very strong - almost a whiskey-like burn as it goes down. A great beer. Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA

Pour was that of dark apple juice. Very little murkiness or darkness. Flavor was sickly sweet...and that of candied sugar...very little dark fruit or complexity...maybe some apples. Tasted like a "fake quad", akin to Avery the Rev or something else. I didn’t dig this AT ALL. SuperDave70 (1160), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 18, 2008 Pours a dark burnt amber with lots of sediment and a creamy off white head. Lots of nice lacing as the head slowly fades away. Great aromas of spice, citrus peel, banana, dark fruits, cherries, malt, yeast and some alcohol. Flavors are all there too, and then some. Too complex to try and distinguish all the notes going on, but overal very fruity and good. A bit of bitterness and alcohol bite on the finish. Great brew. nate2g (1150), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Bottle. Pours reddish brown with a medium head that diminished. Fruity aroma with notes of bread and alcohol. The flavour is bread, fruit and alcohol. There’s a harshness present in the mouthfeel from the alcohol phenols and lacks the smoothness I’d like to see in a quad. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada

Cloying brown sugar flavour at first Mellowing out to Caramel and honey notes. Alcohol not that noticable. Slight dry hop bitter notes. Kåstå (1149), Mol, Belgium
