COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

Yeasty and bready aroma with definite hints of raisin and dark fruits. Dark amber/ ruby in colour which is clear with a small off-white head with good retention and lovely lacing in glass as it was being drunk. Taste is dominated by raisins, dark fruit and black treacle with a small kick of alcohol mainly sweet with a hint of bitterness, definite toffee aftertaste. Mouthfeel is full but not as full as many quadrupels very smooth in texture, soft carbonation with a long finish. Lovely beer, not the best quadrupel, but it clearly has very stiff competition. (Served from 330ml bottle into Trappist glass.)

0,33l bottle. Hazy (yeast drops) dark copper colour with quickly disappearing small off-white head. Aroma: Fruity, banana, flowers, a bit caramel, candy sugar, very strong and intense. Taste: Sweet malty start, a lots of yeast in the taste. Light bitter mouthfeel too and has a dessert like feel. Oily texture. Very warming feel. Different from the other quads, I think becouse of the amount of yeast that used in the brewing process. I can feel the alcohol in this one more than the other quads. Full bodied with medium/soft carbonation. Well balanced pleasent bitter/sweet/sour finish, Very good quad, but a little bit different.
