COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

This is by far the best trappist ale I’ve had to date hands down. I can’t give any negative points about the brew. Straight up tens and fives in my book!

Aroma of prunes, raspberries, bananas, caramel and a bit of alcohol. Taste is sweet, with warming alcohol and almost no bitterness. Very good

Pretty sweet belgian strong ale. Maybe a little bit too light in body and a bit too carbonated. Anyway, it fits its role.

Pours slightly cloudy, dark amber into my LaTrappe glass. Thin head (2mm) which disappears within a minute. Aroma reasonably subtle, smells alcohol/ester. First hit to the palate is the ester and yeast, heavy on the burnt malt, followed by gentle bitterness. A bit sugar syrupy. Quite boozy, but then again, it’s what you’d expect at 10%. Bought at Dan Murphy’s, $23AUD a 4pk. Great value. Not as good as Chimay Grand reserve though for about three same $ DEFINITELY wait till it warms up to 10 - 14°, so worth it!

A dark ruby red beer with a large white head of foam. It has a spicy toffee and red cherry fruity flavour with sweet currants and spices on the smooth well carbonated finish. Excellent!

Bottle from Cash Flandre Artois, Auchy-les-Mines - FR. Color: clear golden amber beer with no carbonation and small white foam. Smell: caramel and malt domination. Really sweet notes and floral. Banana notes and ethanol presence. Taste: full body with caramel malt. Really sweet with ethanol taste. Good attenuation. Banana finish. Astringent, alcohol. Aftertaste: fruity and candied notes. Sweet caramel. Toffee and finish. Banana notes.

Piana: biało-żółtawa, obfita, zbudowana z drobnych i średnich pęcherzyków, średnio trwała, opada do cienkiego pierścienia. Smak: podobny do aromatu słodkie ciemne owoce, finisz wytrawny, goryczka ziołowo-pieprzowa, rozgrzewający alkohol. Pełnia średnia, wysycenie średnie do wysokiego. Dobre, mocne, degustacje piwo na zimowe wieczory.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy orange body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of orange, pear drops, apricot and white sugar. Flavour of marzipan, yeast, banana and coriander. Medium body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Lively fizz. Quite sweet, but a tasty beer indeed.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and snifter served displaying a coppery amber color. with a finger’s width of soft white head foam that reduced to a persistent ring & film, and showed some wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was sweet, with dried esters as pit fruit & cherry, and a hint of vanilla. The taste was similar, with the vanilla a bit more evident, medium bodied, and lively enough effervescence to project the aforementioned flavor notes, plus an earthy bitterness and some tart astringency. The alcohol was warming, but not boozy, and the texture was non sticky/syrupy. An enjoyable, well balanced Quad.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Rich amber colour with a creamy head. Aromas of raisin, banana, vanilla and caramel. More sweet flavours on the palate, overall very rich yet nicely balanced.

Pours dark orange towards amber with a rocky white head that lasts. Really beautiful colour. The aroma contains banana, caramel, nuts, vanilla, some other fruits. Tastes medium sweet and light bittersweet in the finish. Stunning palate, nice carbonation, full body, warming alcohol but doesn’t taste that boozy. Excellent.
