COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

Bem encorpada com final longo, frutado e com ótimo amargor.

Colore ambrato/arancione, schiuma cremosa persistente. Odore malto caramellato, frutta matura. Corposa e piuttosto frizzante. Da meditazione.

Pours clear chestnut brown, highly carbonated with two-finger white head. Aroma of dark toffee, molasses, strawberry, some hop floral or earthy notes. Taste is surprisingly clean at first, bittering gives way to sweet malt caramels and toffees, dark fruits, some alcohol, liquorice, and clove spices.

0.3 l bottle from local Albert Heijn, bottled in december 2014. Clear, reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Sweetish, fruity-malty aroma of prunes, raisins, ripe banana, gingerbread, cane sugar, dried dates and maybe a bit of glue. Sweetish, fruity-malty aroma of prunes, raisins, dried dates, ripe banana, gingerbread, cane sugar and hints of licorice, followed by a long, medium bitter, slightly alcoholic and warming finish. Medium to full body, slightly effervescent and creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nicely balanced quad with some hop bite in the end. Still almost unimaginable to see such a beer in a German supermarket whereas it is available in Holland around every corner and for just a bit more than one euro per bottle.

Bottle in the Magnolia Beer Cafe, Keswick. Hazy amber with a thin off white head. The aroma is sweet with peach and caramel. The taste is fruity with plenty of spice along with notes of peach, orange peel, caramel, tea, toffee, liquorice and raisin. Nice.
