Quadrupel is La Trappe’s heaviest ale with a stunning amber colour. Its warm and intense flavour is rich and finely balanced. Malty sweet, slightly burnt, and pleasantly bitter with a sweet aftertaste. Quadrupel continues to ferment after bottling and offers aromas of banana, almond, vanilla and others.

This one was bought by mistake by one of my friends. We had tried the Tripel a while back and he thought he had bought more.. but to our unanimous statisfaction, he had bought the Quadrupel. 330ml bottle served in snifter at room temperature: Pours a foggy mohagony showing no carbs and topped off by a huge creamy white head with a slight tan. Lacing properties are crazy making the brew very appealing visually. The nose is outrageously fruity and nutty with tons of banana, molasses and almonds. I got a strong alcohol backbone giving a brandy aspect to the nose. Sometimes getting the alcohol in the nose is not a positive trait but in this case I found it fitted just right. It’s almost as if you were about to drink a winter warmer so it makes the brew promessing. On the tongue, the beer is dense, effervescent, putting out tons of candied fruits and nuts. It breaks down into foamy and sweet liquorish dattes leading to an incredible warm finish lasting ages. This is just a wow all the way. I recommend any Quadrupel fan to give this beer a try. It’s dense, complex and yet incredibly delicate. Awesome product! Cheers!

Intense reddish amber. Long-lasting thick ivory froth. Sheer aroma of caramel, banana, apricot, bread, white flowers, even limestone. Creamy, mildly sweet, strong and fresh. Very complex, with a long, flower-reminiscent ending. Excellent.

Perhaps, one of my favorite Belgium beers. Nice strong alcohol taste, while still fruity and malty. Not so bitter. Perfect

I was fortunate enough to try this for the first time in the motherland of wonderful Belgium. The aroma draws you in immediately and the subtle yeastiness that is this quad is addicting if not inspiring. I was extremely pleased to find it on tap back home.
