4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 5, 2008 This was my first bottle in 10 years. It was as I remember. I had the 750ML corked version. The pour: deep caramel color with a head with large bubbles. (This usually is a result of bottle conditioning.) The bouquet: heavy "Trappist" yeast smell. Very fruity- dates, figs, raisins. The palate: intense, malty, sweet- you can definitely tell this ale is fermented with Belgian candy sugar. The finish: definite alcohol "bite" at the back of the tongue. Aftertaste: nutty, toffeeish. Very good Quad... not the world’s very best, but it’s up there.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Hazy orange-brown with a firm and creamy off-white head. The aroma is fruity, caramel-esque, of yeasts and spices. The flavour is sweet with ripe peach, nectarine, caramel, yeast, pepper. Nice, not complex, but nice.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle/tap, dark beer quite strong, tastes heavy, perfect for winter days, strong flavours, a bit wooden, over all a very good trappist

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
La trappe Quadrupel is behoorlijk zoet! Het biertje zelf aan uiterlijk ziet er wel mooi uit

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a small, white head. Banana in the nose. Tastes malty sweet, but with a nice edge of bitterness. Although 10%, it's nicely balanced.

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
APPEARANCE - Clear dark orange with a light brown 5-finger head that lasts.
SMELL/AROMA/SCENT - Sweet, but not much aroma overall.
TASTE - Brown sugar, very Belgian, very sweet. Herbaceous, piney. ABV not too well hidden.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Beer is light, well-carbonated, with a pleasantly creamy head.
VALUE - $10. - About average for a Belgian at a bar.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Very light and well-carbonated for a Belgian quad. Would be nicer if ABV were well-hidden.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Ottima birra con un bel colore ambrato scuro e un cappello di schiuma non molto persistente, odore e sapore richiamano molto frutta secca insieme a delle note alcoliche importanti

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle - hazy amber with a bubbly beige head. Okay lacing. Aroma of banana and clove with some peach and pear. A little alcohol works its way through. Taste of banana, pear, bubblegum and sweet malts. Nicely warming. Medium body, medium carbonation. Amazing.
