Brewer101 (162), New Jersey, USA Jun 9, 2008 Nice Tripel, Not too cloudy in the pour, light head, medium color of orange. The aroma and flavor were dominated by a sour apple. Not a bad beer though, i enjoyed it and was glad to find it LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Jun 7, 2008 750ml bottle. Pours clear orangish color with full foamy white head. Slight cloudy amber color, off-white head that disappeared immediately. Fruity aroma, reasonably bitter taste with sweet malts. Big on carbonation. Not my favorite tripel. MBison (548), Southern Highlands, Australia Jun 2, 2008 Bottle (330ml). Poured a hazy amber with dense, off-white, foamy head which was mostly lasting. Aroma was of sweet toffee malts with some grassy hops, dried mixed fruits, spicy notes (vanilla, cinnamon and cloves), cooked butter, orange zest and hints of pears and yeast. Flavor was very smooth and easy drinking despite alcohol content, only a very light bitterness was present with toffee malts, boiled sweets, dried mixed fruits, cooked butter with cinnamon and white pepper in the finish. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation, a dry creamy mouthfeel, oily texture and a good finish. UnholyBrewing (448), Melbourne(Mulgrave), Australia Jun 1, 2008 Updated: Feb 26, 2009...bottle at a local cafe. This stuff was a great treat, and I was impressed that the small place had it. Fruity nose, great pour with a lasting, frothy head. Balanced sweetness, with a relatively dry finish, makes it a very well balanced beer. I have only seen it at that one place, so it’s hard to find. I suggest you try this if you like Trappist beers. :Update: in 500 ml cask. Much smoother in the corked cask, fruitier, and overall a better tripel when drank from the cask. I liked it even more, I felt like a monk, ahhaha. Ljunkan (379), Karlstad, Sweden May 29, 2008 330 ml bottle. Amber color with an aroma of yeast and fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and fruity with banana and spices. Some alcohol is noticable in the taste. A decent tripel, but the Chimay White is better. Krasulak (63), Wapadrand, Pretoria, South Africa May 29, 2008 Pours cloudy amber with good but brief white head. Aroma is fresh fruity, peach some orange and yeast. Flavour is moderately sweet, fruity (peach, raisins) with an almond note, low bitterness. Lingering moderately sweet and fruity finish. A very decent tripel.
