On tap at St. Veronus. Not a chock full of flavour on this one. Very clear appearance (unlike most belgians). Smell is of sugar and molasses. Mouthfeel is very thin and flavours of yeast and white sugar (oddly enough) appear on the tongue. Wasn’t too impressed. The quadrupel is leagues ahead of this one.

TAP at the castle on king. 6 oz taster. pours murky golden with an average white head. aromas of funky white wine, some sourness, fruit in the nose as well. flavours are yeasty, sour, funky, belgian candied sugar, vauge hop finish. it was drinkable with soft carbonation. ill try it again but it wasnt the best offering i had tonight. 7/3/7/3/12 BOTTLE. 750 ml bottle from the LCBO. Ive had this in the cellar for a while and cracked it with about 6 months on it. corked 07/08. the bottle wasnt sour like the tap version i tried. incredible soft and sweet. very refined with no alcohol present. nice to look at but lacking the dynamic flavour profile of a really good triple. a let down but still overall pretty decent. i still want to try this one again. 6/4/7/3/12

(cleaning out my beer bottle collection as pictured in my profile and utilizing ratebeer.com) As I recall, this was a good Tripel. I am surpised I had to add this to RateBeer. If I can find the bottle and have not thrown it away, I will submit the picture.

Frizzante. Mah

50 cl bottle, at my «Hopheads» tasting. Amber color, white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Flavor is the same. Watery and without carbonation. Too old? Dry finish.

weighted golden with thick, unmoving bright white head. carbonation is the only thing stirring up the suspended goodness in the glass. aromas of orange and dry malt, but faint. sweet maple syrup, orange blossom base, soft herbal floral hop notes and everything blends to a tropical finish.

Huge offwhite lasting head. Slightly hazy deep orange body. Intense spicy banana aroma with fruity notes and licorice. Sweet fruity licorice taste, slightly stale. Sharpish mouthfeel. Some alcohol heat. Milky tobacco notes with some chalk and ash. Maybe a bit old, or poorly stored? Good, but disappointing. (0.33l bottle from Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. BBD 2010-04. Wonder if this shop really treats its beers well.)
