Clay bottle. Pours an impressive dark orange amber, cloudy, with a rapidly rising lively cream-coloured head that fades rather quickly. Fruity toffee aroma, sweet, hints of yeast and spices. Sweet palate, full-bodied, a little sticky, with flavours of almonds, marmalade, toffee, bread, and spices. Finish is dry, but not really bitter. Alcohol is a pleasing warmth in the throat. Very nice sipper!

Trappist beer from Holland, this should be excellent. Slightly hazy orange with an especially strong aroma of fruits, slight alcohol and sweet candy; I really like this smell. The taste is complex, spicy, fruity, very good. This is a very nice tripel. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-15-2007 16:42:29

Bottle at the Headkeeper. Pours a hazy orange-gold, off-white head doesn’t stick around long. Aroma is vague fruit, yeast and malt notes. Flavor is more of the same, add in some caramel, though there is a little kick of spice hidden in there.Finish is soft and dry.

330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Righ orante, brief frothy head. Apple, pear and a touch of peach in the aroma. Lively carbonation, alcoholic vapours in the mouth. Simple sweet malty body, touch of alcohol, but not actual burn. Dry tingly hops. Uninspired. Possibly the worst Trappist beer I’ve ever encountered.
