Bottle at the Headkeeper. Pours a hazy orange-gold, off-white head doesn’t stick around long. Aroma is vague fruit, yeast and malt notes. Flavor is more of the same, add in some caramel, though there is a little kick of spice hidden in there.Finish is soft and dry.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 FatPhil (5973) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - AUG 27, 2009
330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Righ orante, brief frothy head. Apple, pear and a touch of peach in
the aroma. Lively carbonation, alcoholic vapours in the mouth. Simple
sweet malty body, touch of alcohol, but not actual burn. Dry tingly
hops. Uninspired. Possibly the worst Trappist beer I’ve ever
encountered.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ljay6880 (472) - , Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 26, 2009
12 oz bottle served in a tulip. Pour was a dark copper with two fingers of slightly off-white head. Nose is candied sugar, apples, pears, grapes, and Belgian yeast. Taste is Belgian yeast, apples, and a bit of sugar. This beer comes off much light than I expected. It is quite tasty, but the fruit salad, also known as the aroma, is my favorite part.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DSG (2636) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - AUG 21, 2009
Bottle. Hazy dark orange-amber color with a huge frothy white head. Very estery aroma with banana, spices, bubbleum notes and yeast. Sweetish-spicy flavor with fruity esters, some candies and a slightly drier finish with a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Nice.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Parket (521) - Bruges, BELGIUM - AUG 17, 2009
bottle, orange/yellow colour and white, small and unstable white head. Smell: very fruity. Taste: fruity, sweet, mild bitterness, yeasty and alcohol taste. It’s a good tripel but not a topper like the st bernardus and the karmeliet.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 JanVittrup (244) - København V, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2009
Orange/light amber unfiltered. Nice disappearing head.
Aroma: Some sweetness, some alcohol. Aroma less strong than the La Trappe Blond, but similar. Not very interesting.
Not bitter. Just watery. Not dry. Alcohol not strong.
Watery, a little fizz. Mouthwatering.
Neutral.
Purchased in SuperBest.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Aggy360 (115) - Anchorage/ Vista,CA, Alaska, USA - AUG 13, 2009
Pours a dark orange with an off-white head, it’s a bit hazy. The aroma is of orange peel, a bit of sweet malt, and some yeast characters. The taste is bready, with some plum characters, and has a slight spice on the finish. There seems to be some fruit notes near the finish as well. A light warming effect lingers. This beer has a medium-light body which the suspended yeast plays a role. This is a well made beer but I’m not too impressed.
