"A special and strong Trappist ale. The use of coriander gives it a spicy character. Golden in colour with a fruity, bittersweet taste.

Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Amber coloured with a moderate, off-white head. Sweet malty aroma with some orange fruit and tired hops. Flavour was better, with some more sweetness, yeast, nutmeg and citrus fruit, leading to a gently bitter finish. Ok.

UPDATED: JUN 26, 2011 From a slightly fresher bottle. Deep golden colour topped by a very light head. The aroma is quite spicy and a little bit of fruity citrus. There is a bit of light spicy/earthy character along with a little bit of soft peachy spice. Lean bodied although there is a little bit of honeyed fruit flavour. A fairly carbonic sort of flavour from the high carbonation that I don’t recall. It’s quite soft and a little bit chewy as well. Pretty tasty stuff.

Bottle. Golden-coloured brew with very little head at all. The aroma is quite spicy. Soft clove and apricot along with a bit of a musky note on the back. There is a bit of citrus and a nice sweet cologne-like spiciness. There is also a kiss of lightly crackery Belgian malts and there is a lightly oxidized note. A little bit of corkiness and some lingering citrus and apricot. A kiss of sherry flavour. A great balance of swet fruits and some yeastiness with a nice dryness on the back that keeps this nicely drinkable. It tastes like it has a bit of age on it (bunch of Googling to translate the La Trappe date code... yup, January, 2007 brew date). Really quite tasty with everything nice and restrained and balanced. 8 3 7 4 15

Bottle. Pours dark orange. Yeast character upfront, totally different from the LT blonde. Still the typical la trappe aroma arises, with a more fruity touch here.

Aroma is mainly fruity (mixture) with notes of yeast. Minor alcohol presence on the nose. Flavor is also fruity, interlaced with yeast and some alcohol. Not bad, although the sweetness can be a bit much at times.

BOTTLE: rich gold pour, tannish head. Fruit and malt on the nose, plus some spice. Taste is mildly bitter, spice, fuller-bodied, very good tripel.

Gold-blond beer, small head. Aromas of fresh fruit. Tastes intense, dense, fruity, some honey, rasp or black berries? Nice finish,long-lasting.

Aroma is light and uninteresting. Slightly fruity. Pours Golden tan with nice lacing and light head that quickly disperses. Taste is dark fruit, fruit punch and a bitter finish up front. Palate is light and clean. Its a clean, fresh fruity belgian.
