ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Apr 5, 2007 Updated: Oct 18, 2008Bottle (33 cl) from Systembolaget. Hazy - almost cloudy - amber colour (unusual for a tripel) with a large off-white head. Yeasty, spicy slightly fruity aroma. Nice flavour with some discrete sweetness and a dry finish. Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden Apr 3, 2007 Bottle, 33cl. Slightly hazy amber colour with a large off-white head. Yeasty "Belgian" aroma with some dark fruits. Flavour is spicy with a dash of bananas. GreatLibations (1440), Last Supper, Arizona, USA Apr 3, 2007 Pours a firey apricot color w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Great head retention finally reducing to a full, thick canopy. Aroma of granite and dried bananas, peach, and citrus. Full nectar w/ ample residual effers. Mildly sweet w/ strong flavors. Malty w/ a persistant peach pit bittering from start to finish. Secondary favors of dried apricot, peach, banana cream, vanilla bean, and candy rocks. As she warms a little honeycomb comes through. The finish is bittered perfectly leaving some lingering malt complexities. Overall: a stronger flavored brew w/ perfect Tripel character and a mild sweetness. badgerben (3584), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Mar 31, 2007 Golden color with a thin head. Lots of wheat and a little banana aroma. This tastes more like a Wit, with wheat and coriander the dominant flavors. Slightly sweet finish though. JK (2944), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Mar 31, 2007 Thanks to Badgerben for sharing. Very nice. Aroma has wheat and fruit, and I’m happy this tripel is not dominated by alcohol. Flavor is sweet with malt and more fruit, very lightly spiced. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Mar 30, 2007 Banna in the nose. Wheat body with raisins and wheat body. Decent utility beer.
