COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. This ale owes its crisp and spicy character to the use of coriander and other spices and herbs, as well as to post-fermentation in the bottle. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast; Coriander. 17.5°

Caramel malty, spicy citrus fruitiness with light notes of yeast. Quite sweet with very light bitterness. Nothing fancy, but refreshing and pleasantly drinkable. Well hidden ABV

Bottle. Pours hazy gold. Foam fades quickly. Very strong scent of bubblegum. Additional aromas are sweet, young wheat/grain, almost like a sweet version of Hoegaarden. Overall, a little too much for me. Next, the taste. Sweet again, fresh cut flowers (orchids, daisies, buttercups), wheat undertone, slight hint of Weissen (quite amazing evolution, considering the ingredients). You got to like this, in my honest opinion: not very masculine (no disrespect, in fact, this might be a quite enjoyable tripel style beer for the misses to enjoy!). Aftertaste is wheaty, hints of citrus. Not a thirst quencher.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Nesodden. Big off-white head which fades quickly. Semi-clear golden orange body. Aroma is mostly malty, caramel, hay-like hops. Very fruity. Slightly bitter on the tongue. Sweet aftertaste. Some alcohol.

Golden. Frothy white head. Alcohol, pepper and yeast nose. Medium body, low carbonation. Some dryness. Sweet and bitter. Banana, pepper, leaf, bread, pepper, yeast flavour. Might be the best tripel I’ve tasted, even though I’m usually not that fond of the style...

Excellente bière triple, je ne connaissais pas du tout avant de goûter...faudra que je compare ça avec la quadruple qui traine sur l’étagère un de ces jours.

A solid trippel, aroma not the best but everything else is top notch. Properly served in the best-in-class La Trappe glass and you’ve got yourself a winner.

Pours a nice cloudy golden. Spice and citrus on the nose. Coriander, citrus, and other spices on the palate, yeasty too. Finishes slightly sweet.
