Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Dec 29, 2006 Murky dark orange body topped by a long lasting thin off-white head. Very tasty and thick beer. Like a fruits & vegetables soup. Flavour of ripe peach, ripe plums, ripe pears, more tropical fruits, some cooked vegetables (including carrots!!!). All that swimming in caramel and a teaspoon of corriander. Overall taste of earthy ripe stuff. Filling. A little bitterness at the very end. Could have been very good but the very ripe flavour was a bit too much. Anymore “soupy” and it would be sold in a can. Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Dec 26, 2006 Updated: Jun 10, 2007An amber beer with a white big head that disappearing leaves many laces on the glass. The flavour is spicy and fruity, not bad but maybe too much alcoholic presence. Very fruity and sweet flavours, with only light bitterness and too much alcohol for my taste. Quite good finish. Not bad but I expected more. saxo (3510), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Dec 20, 2006 Bottle. Nice big head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma is fruit, yeast and malt. Taste is nice and complex with fruit and spices. detroitsteel (231), Greater London, England Dec 14, 2006 Drunk a 33cl bottle in De Hems in London. Looks good in the glass, very nice golden hew, had an ok head. The taste is too much like Leffe Blonde to be destinctive - maybe a slight hint of orange. It was OK, but disappointing. flemmingwillum (225), København S, Denmark Dec 11, 2006 Darker colour than other tripels, only a little head.
Aroma is sweet, a little yeasty and alcoholic with some flowers. The flavor is much alike, but there are also quite much notes from wood or barrels, maybe cork. Medium body. Nice beer, but not very unusual. gnoff (3559), Göteborg, Sweden Dec 10, 2006 (30 cl bottle from a friend from Holand) Sweet fruity, strong alcohol, Belgian ale yeast scent. Shady brown color, fluffy white head. Sweet fruity alcohol taste. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Low bitterness. TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Dec 9, 2006 Pours hazy bronze golden with a thin, mostly maintained beige head. Aroma is a mix of fruity esters: pineapples, bubble gum, and phenols: apples, and candied fruits. Taste is lightly sweet with most of the flavors present in the aroma. Some of the phenols are overpowered by alcoholic esters. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a Belgian alcoholic light stickiness and lush carbonation. Nice and probably my favorite of the La Trappe lineup. MPA (478), Nørrebro(formerly Aalborg), Denmark Dec 1, 2006 Draught, vintage 05. Reddish orange with nice off white head. Sweetish and malty in aroma with hints nectarine, figs, nuts and a little too much alcohol. Flavour is sweet with caramel, honey, alcohol and a good hoppy bitterness.
