deyholla (504), Bloomington, Indiana, USA May 28, 2009 Bottle at the Copenhagen beer festival. Poured a pale golden with minimal white head. Aroma was of a sweet perfume. Flavor begins quite sweet but ends metallic and alcohol lingers. austone (997), Turku; Pori, Finland May 28, 2009 33cl bottle. Amber, fluffy but thin white head. Nose is alcohol, rust, mild herbs and dried pear. Flavor is more of the same, huge booziness, metal, stuffy herbs, slightly ashy bitterness, low on fruits. Loads of alcohol warmth in the finish. Medium bodied, average soft palate. Here’s a prime example off a bad bad tripel. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway May 21, 2009 330 ml bottle. Slightly hazy, dark golden body with a small but dense off-white head. Fresh fruity and spicy aroma. Flavor is soft, sweet fruity with spices and a hint of caramel. Nice tripel. Marsiblursi (1628), Göteborg, Sweden May 17, 2009 (Bottle) Pours deep golden with a large, off-white head. The aroma holds malty tones of honey, nuts, light caramel and light marzipan. Fruity notes of sweet red apples, pears, canned pineapples, sweet lemons and bananas as well as hints of peppery and clove-like phenols. Light herbal hops and dusty yeast. The flavour is light to medium sweet and near medium bitter with tones of bread, nuts, honey, oranges, red apples, apricots, herbs and light clove. The mouthfeel is clean and light acidic with a light crisp carbonation. The finish is of alcohol, almond paste, honey and earthy herbs. Medium bodied. mbuisman79 (133), Amsterdam, Netherlands May 17, 2009 nice deep smell of banana. alcohol is nice and warming. taste changes over time. Don’t drink it too fast. Markys (64), Stockholm, Sweden May 16, 2009 Fruity aroma of malt and herbs. Fruity flavor as well. Although I think I like the dubble better. TET (226), Finland May 15, 2009 Slightly cloudy, copper brown beer with big blond head. Aroma is quite complex: parfym, flowers, syrup, some alcohol and berries. Flavour is dryer than aroma, some alcohol, slightly musty and somehow too smooth without surprises. Quite easy to drink with nice carbonation. La Trappe Tripel is not bad beer but unfortunately it is insignificant and I can’t find reason why to buy this beer again, because there are much better beers available. Lubiere (4462), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada May 13, 2009 A nice golden amber ale with a thin off white head. Aroma of herbs, candy sugar, yeasts and orange peels. In mouth, a light sweetish malt with gin alcohol notes, a bit of coriander, and oily motuhfeel. Rich and smooth. Tasted April 25 2009.
