COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast. 17.5°

Kaum bitter

Kolor : Złoty. Zamglony.
Piana: Skromna, lekka, sycząca i w mgnieniu oka opadająca. Jest tak wątła, że trudną ją zbadać. Biała, drobna ze średnim lacingiem.
Zapach: Typowo belgijskie nuty zapachowe.
Smak: Klasyk można by rzec. Alkohol wyczuwalny, rozgrzewa. Piwo średniotreściwe i musujące na języku.
Wysycenie: Średnie do wysokiego.
Podsumowanie:
Klasyk i klasa sama w sobie. Dobra, solidna pozycja.

Bottle from Drinkshop. Yeasty on the nose, slightly basementy - but not much of either. In taste it is pretty balanced, not too strong on the spices or apple-ish elements which tripels often do. I get some light balancing noble hops, possibly Saaz or similar, that rounds thing up nicely. High carbonation, easy drinking. Good one.

Bottle; BB 12/2016. My first impression: this is almost horrible compared to St Feuillien’s Tripel... But OK, maybe I’m being too cruel - let’s delve into it. It pours a slightly hazy amber with a fizzy off-white head. Retains better in a Westmalle chalice than in a flute. The aroma is floral and dishwatery... (from the new chalice, at least) then almonds and toffee, and sweet doughy moments plus ripe yellow fruits (much more aroma coming from the flute). Same goes for the flavour - ripe peaches or apricots, pears, yeast and dough. Very crisp, almost aggressive carbonation. A bit of a hay dry finish. I guess I like the St Feuillien’s citric type of Tripel more than this, the more ripe and ’warmer’ one. It does get much better when warmer though, and even manages to somewhat get under my skin. Will make sure to have it again soon.

A very good tripel. Smooth though complex and full taste. Light sweet and bitter tones, and a lingering aftertaste.
