La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast. 17.5°

Una triple ben equilibrata, dove la dolcezza spicca su tutto. Aromi maltati, con sentori speziati (coriandolo) ed erbacei, con buona consistenza dei malti per una bevuta vellutata e dal gusto rotondo e pieno

Bottle, 330ml. Pours slightly unclear orange with green-yellow tint and a short white head, which is short lasting and non-lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, slightly wineouss, coriander, caramel. Body is medium with medium carbonation. Taste is mostly sweet, with no sourness and slight bitterness. Flavor of sweet caramel, slight honey, coriander, some orange peel, slight liquorice in end, some alcohol, slight hop notes. Flavors are very pleasant, mostly sweet with some warm spice, slightly boring... Very nice and very drinkable. Nice and simple triple.

Draught @ Ölrepubliken. Hazy goldenish with a thick white foam, slowly dissipating leaving some lacings. A solid lid on the surface. Aroma is rich, with citrus, wheat, slight vinous tone with a maltier backbone, some yeast note. Taste is also rich, with a mouthful of flavours, starting a bit sweet fruity, hint of yeast and coriander, some vinous and citrus tone, slight banana tone until a slight, careful bitterness lingers in the end. Medium body, soft to medium carbo, oily texture. Smashy.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 330ml served in its own beautiful chalice. A: Pours a cloudy amber color with a medium beige bubbled head. Small retention but it does not disappears completely. No lacings are left S: Sweet aroma. Reminds a liquor. Notes of caramel and fruits. Strong on malts and yeasts. More biscuity than bready T: Follows the nose. Sweet upfront. Caramel, malts and yeasts followed by a mild bitter end. Quite simple to a Triple, at the same time very pleasant and drinkable M: Medium body. Low carbonation. Quite light to its 8% ABV. Balanced sweet-bitterness O: The less traditional Trappist beer but still a great one [ BA Review @ 7/10/2011 ]

33cl bottle shared in a Gouden Carolus glass. Pours a nice dark straw colour with a generous whitish head which lasts well into the drink. Aroma is estery, Belgian yeast and spices. Taste is more of the same and is the best balanced of the (spicy/dry) tripels I have tried. Slightly bitter aftertaste but perfectly balanced against the slight sweetness. Very good.
