"A special and strong Trappist ale. The use of coriander gives it a spicy character. Golden in colour with a fruity, bittersweet taste.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast; Coriander

Very thin white head with a slightly murky dark gold body. The aroma is bananas, cognac and caramel. The taste is malty with bread and cherries. Also some vanilla and caramel come out as it warms. The body is thin. Unimpressive for the style.

Sampled a bottle with the gang at LexLarp in St Paul. Pours a dark orange color with a thin head. Aroma of fruity banana with hints of apricots. Taste is nice sweet with hints of peach and apricots. Very sweet aftertaste.

Slightly murky amber color with pillowy half inch off white head. Excellent lacing. Right out of the bottle the aroma was nice ripe banana. Later the sweet malt, sugar and a hint of yeast spiciness entered the aromatic picture. Solid Belgium flavor of brown sugar, plums, apple juice, banana, grapes, dry malts and yeast. The finish is dry and not too sweet. Very tasty.

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2011 March 2004 Bottle Conditioned. BBE Jan 05 A pleasant brew. Smooth, but with a hint of prickly carbonation even one hour after opening. Alcohol is used to add body and flavour - some hint of warmth, but mostly well hidden. Fruitly sweet like jelly beans. [3.2]
Feb, 2011 On a blind taste this would be mistaken for a Saison. High temperature pale malt fermentation leads to a pleasant jammy flavour - fresh, light and orange tinged. The hops are not doing much. Faint spice notes, and some yeasty sludge add character and interest. Well attenuated for the strength so a light palate with a medium dryness. Easy drinking and very pleasant with a little alcohol buzz. Some plastic notes in the nose are distracting, but otherwise a decent enough beer. [3.6]

Bottle. Bit hazy orange body with a longlasting creamy white head. Aroma malt, caramel, fruit, yeast and spices. Nice balanced flavour of coriander, spice, yeast, malt, hops and caramel. Smooth bodied. Very nice tripel.

Muddy orangey brown sewage color with hardly any head. Ugliest tripel I have seen. Cotton candy and bubble gum nose. Thin, waxy palate. Malty, tropical fruit framework. Very sweet. Quite possibly an off bottle.
