"A special and strong Trappist ale. The use of coriander gives it a spicy character. Golden in colour with a fruity, bittersweet taste.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast; Coriander

Strong fruity aroma with plenty of alcohol apparent. Opaque deep golden blonde body is topped by a fluffy but shortlived head that recedes to a partial cover. Strong fruitiness in the flavour with alcohol notable and a pleasant botterness. Tart finish. Medium full body with very engaging carbonation. Sampled at Mondial 2006.

Huge offwhite lasting head. Slightly hazy deep orange body. Intense spicy banana aroma with fruity notes and licorice. Sweet fruity licorice taste, slightly stale. Sharpish mouthfeel. Some alcohol heat. Milky tobacco notes with some chalk and ash. Maybe a bit old, or poorly stored? Good, but disappointing. (0.33l bottle from Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. BBD 2010-04. Wonder if this shop really treats its beers well.)

Dec 2001 rerating (bottle). A nice-looking, bubbly brew with an Octoberfest look to it, and with a malty, yeasty aroma with a hint of citrus. Flavor has more than a hint of orange and other fruits; nice but seemed too highly carbonated to me. Finish redeems, awesomely dry but with a nice lingering malty sweetness. Improves greatly as it warms. This used to be my favorite Trappist; sadly, it has diminished somewhat though I still think its quite nice -- but happily, I’ve discovered many better examples!

750 mL bottle. Clear orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma of pear, banana, passion fruit, and yeast. Bright and lively palate. Caramel sweetness and mixed fruit taste with only a slight bitterness and a semi-dry finish.

Poured a dark copper color with a quickly diminishing head. There was always some foam however from it being so efferevesent. Aroma of fruit, alcohol, and maybe a little cardboard. Flavor is sweet and lightly fruity with spice and alcohol on the back end. Medium bodied and fizzy on the tongue. A good amount of banana aroma is noted as this beer warms.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry at Smokeless Joe. Pours a clear bubbly copper colour with an average size off-white head and a little sediment. Aroma of caramel malt, yeast, banana, sugar, spices and alcohol. Fairly well blended flavour of malt, yeast, dark fruit, sugar and alcohol -- though the alcohol is a tad too noticeable in my opinion. I’ve had much better Tripels but it’s still a damn fine beer.

Clay bottle. Pours an impressive dark orange amber, cloudy, with a rapidly rising lively cream-coloured head that fades rather quickly. Fruity toffee aroma, sweet, hints of yeast and spices. Sweet palate, full-bodied, a little sticky, with flavours of almonds, marmalade, toffee, bread, and spices. Finish is dry, but not really bitter. Alcohol is a pleasing warmth in the throat. Very nice sipper!
