"A special and strong Trappist ale. The use of coriander gives it a spicy character. Golden in colour with a fruity, bittersweet taste.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2007 New review:
Tripel is probably my favorite non-wheat beer style. La Trappe was the first one I’ve tried, and I loved it. Now I’m a bit more experienced when they’re concerned, and I decided to rerate it. This poured a great looking dark orange colour with a nice medium sized head that went away relatively slowly leaving a ring of lacing around the glass. The nose is all peachy Belgian-style-malt, and the taste isn’t much different. Nice and sweet with hints of peaches and dried apricots, some dry background hopiness that moves into the aftertaste. Hints of alcohol and spices. I still like this a lot (and still think that this is underrated), but a bit less than I used to. Oh, yeah, and it’s now available in Croatia too. Wish the Dubbel and Quad were.... Old review:
Bottle from El Corte Ingles in Barcelona. Poured a lovely dark orange colour, with a fine head, the taste was fruity, maybe peachy, and it was quite sweet. A very, very, pleasant beer, which is certainly the best I bought while in Spain, and my only mistake was not buying more when I had the chance. Doubt I’ll be seeing this in Croatian stores any time soon (but I certainly hope). (8/5/9/5/18)

Pours deep orange amber into a trappist glass. Head quickly recedes to spot surface. Apricot and yeast aromas. Sweet and full upfront with apricots and pit fruits. Turning to a dry caramel and hop finish. Quite nice...

Pours a murky brownish orange color with a bubbly off white head that fades. Aroma is sweet fruityness: bananas, dates, yeasty and a touch of barnyard. Creamy mouthfeel, with a slight fruityness of greengrapes, bananas, touch of maple sweetness and a light crisp dry finish. A fruity date flavor is left on the palate. Nice flavors, but nothing standout.

Bottle @ Stone World Bistro in Escondido. Color was a rusty orange with a thin off white head that vanished quikly. Nose was very fruity with some banana, nutmeg and clove spices. Beer was very fruity in taste and had a bittersweet finish.

cloudy orange with a citrus fruit aroma. very dark for a tripel. small head. not as yeasty and sugary as many tripels. some darker fruits and marshmallows in flavor. actually tastes and looks more like a dubbel to me. not a fan of this brewery.

330 ml bottle. Slightly hazy, dark golden body with a small but dense off-white head. Fresh fruity and spicy aroma. Flavor is soft, sweet fruity with spices and a hint of caramel. Nice tripel.

Dark red-orange with a thin light tan cover. Very fruity aroma, light spice, alcohol. Taste is pears, fruity, more malty spices and a drying alcohol finish.

(Bottle, 0.75l BBE 04-2005, at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2008-12-23. Thank you Marjut for finding this gem.) Orange. Hazy. Small white head. Raisin, malts, fruitiness, dried plum, bitterness, sweetness and some chocolate in taste. Raisin, sweetness and bitterness in aftertaste.
