3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bluevegie (2853) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 14, 2006
Burnt straw coloured body with a touch of orange colouring. Full size white frothy head and big chunks of lacing. Alcohol is most noticeable in the taste, then some spice followed by a touch of caramel. More drinkable as it warms but just doesn’t turn me on too much.

Pours a hazy amber with a two finger frothy offwhite head. The nose is very fruity, estery, lots of yeast character, spicy. The flavor is earthy upfront, prominent Belgian character, spicy, a little sweet, fruity, plum, alcohol starts to show. Palate is crisp and well carbonated, dry.

The only Dutch Trappist brewery! If you’re only gonna have one such brewery, it’s a good thing they do such a damn good job! This Tripel is quite tasty. Starts off sweet, then some hops hit you. It’s a very malty brew, as it should be. One of my favorite Tripels. Go seek this one out. Downside: the alcohol is not totally hidden.

Orange-amber appearance with a massive head on pouring.Very strong alcoholic background as you would expect from a beer of ths strength. Some quite complex flavours are in there but its also a very drinkable beer. One to enjoy late at night-as I did.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 vyvvy (2798) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - MAR 27, 2006
11.2 oz. Not sure how old this is - it still has the La Trappe label on it. Pours a dark amber, one o the darkest tripels I’ve seen. Small quickly diminishing head. Smell is earthy, carmel, heavy yeast/biscuity - very appetizing.
Initial taste expodes in the mouth - earthiness, sourness and a light nutty flavor. Light sweetness, not as sweet as most tripels. Strikes me more of a Belgium strong at this point that a tripel, its probably the aging. Enjoyable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 patrick767 (2772) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 24, 2007
bottle - Pours cloudy amber with a substantial head and a sweet, yeasty aroma. It’s lively on the palate and sweet in flavor with the yeast apparent and not much alcohol noticeable. It struck me as oddly thin for a tripel, which was the main negative point. This beer is a good one, but I’ve definitely had better tripels.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Crit (2768) - New Westminster, British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 5, 2003
Bottle conditioned, Cloudy deep amber in color.Decent Malt nose.Harsh alcohol heat overshadows the hops and malt.

Bottle, 33cl. Pours a clear and light amber beer with a firm offwhite head. The aroma is malt, fruit, yeast and sweetness. The flavor is malt, yeast, fruit and apples. The palate is sweetness with some alcoholwarmth. Overall a good beer.
