Apple cider with a thin off-white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, fruit, toffee and spices. Taste is fruity and yeasty as well with light sugar, dough and alcohol. Decent but not great.

Not a bad tasting triple. Aroma of fruit that comes off quite sweet, no hops. Malty sweet, fruity, alcohol is there at the end.

Bottle (from Bitter Virtue, BB Jul 08). Deep coppery orange colour. Fruity yeast and coriander on the nose. Well rounded mouthfeel slightly creamy but not overly sweet. Some hints of bitter zest in the mouth with more summer stoned fruits. A full and tasty tripel perhaps more suited to drinking incolder weather than many but I would prefer it to feel just a touch more bright and breezy.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours slightly cloudy orange body with sediment floating around at the bottom. The aroma is sour apple and candy corn and some fruit. The taste is candy corn. ha.

Cloudy orange with a quickly dissipating off-white head and pleasant aroma of caramel toffee and candy sugars. The flavor is of dry sweetness with apple and white grape fruit notes. It finished with a heavier, candy sugar sweetness in the background. The body did seem a little thin, but otherwise an enjoyable tripel. This bottle did have a new label and was not called La Trappe anymore, but was just named for the brewery.
