Funky sourdough aroma emanates from this cidery hazy brown colored beer. It tastes somewhat better than it smells, with fast fleeting malt, and little else. Only $2.30/11.2 oz, and still not a bargain in my book.

33 cL bottle, snifter. Toasted bread, cereal malt (M); flowers and grass hops (H); dough yeast (M); banana, white grape, pear, pineapple, white wine aroma. Large, creamy, off-white head leaves good lacing. Clear, amber-red body. Moderately sweet, moderately acidic flavor becomes a lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter finish. Where did the hops go? Medium body, watery/creamy texture, average carbonation, bitter aftertaste. The bottom line is: smelled and looked great, but failed to taste and feel as good.

Pours golden orange with a fizzy orange head that siappears quickly. The aroma is very yeasty and fruity with hints of bananas, orange, and apricots. Alcohol is noticeable in the nose. The flavor is pleasant and fruity with some yeast spiciness. Alcohol is very apparant in this one. Mild musty aftertaste with very little bitterness. Almost cocktail like with the fruit and strong alcohol.

Take the dubbel and apply the turbo chargers. Big sweet malts across the bouquet and palate. Nose is very complete and shows good penetration. Very smooth to drink and underpinned with an appropriate level of fizz that keeps the flavours moving along. This is a polished effort that shows a lot of appeal. (e3.30 @ Café Arendnest)
