"A special and strong Trappist ale. The use of coriander gives it a spicy character. Golden in colour with a fruity, bittersweet taste.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast; Coriander

This one is way more like a dubbel than a tripel. Amber color with minimal whiteish head. Aroma is very dubbel-like as well with some fruity (apples and pears mostly) and a nice amount of spiciness. Sweet upfront with a little bitterness in the finish. A pretty decently balanced beer overall. Still not what I think of as a typical ’tripel’ though.

Bottled. Pure, golden clear body, with a rich large fluffy white head. Very good looking beer this. Lovely beer, that perhaps has been under rated thus to date. I really enjoyed this beer. It just lacked the finish a classy palate that would put it up with Duvel and others.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2003 Dark for a tripel. Nice fruity flavor with apple leading the way. Little bit of a bitter hoppy finish but a very good abbey.

Nice opaque deep golden darkened yellow color, a lighter peachy tone that has lots of little floaty things suspended in its haze. Small whitish head thats loose and fluffy and fades pretty fast and lace is in drippy strings and spots. Smell is a subdued mellow mix of very dulled melons and lemon with some yeasty grab and a nice spicyness and alcoholic warmth over lays. Taste is quite quenchingly yummy and mellowing. Nice mild citrus of dullish lemon, melons, and dried orange and apricot all have a certain impressionable mix and lightly souring tartness kick thats mostly upfront. Hops add to the boost some, then it begins to fade some as it reaches farther past midway. Just after midway it mellows out with some spicyness and lingering lightly into the finish with some malty chewyness and more dulled citrus mix. Solid medium body feel with some creamyness at first, picking up a small surge on its way to a mellowing smooth and lightly chewy sweet finish. Not overly complex but very enjoyable, a nice drinkable thickness and lush feeling as it begins to warm after half a glass or so. Makes for a nice relaxing glass full of delight.

Amber color with a nice white head. The taste is fruity and sweet. A nice complex balance between spices and fruits.

Nice orange brown mix. Foamy tan head. Floaties. Smells like apples, fish, pear. Ok now the fish smell is gone. Banana, citrus. Tastes good and bitter. It has quite a kick and tingles your sinuses. I taste apple peel, nutmeg, malt. Very nice and very strong. Quite a mouthful.

Bottle. Orangy/amber with huge foamy white head that lasts forever. Aroma is sweet malt and fruit. Taste is very sugary and malty and unlike most trippls. It’s a bit sweeter than I was hoping, but good none-the-less.
