"A special and strong Trappist ale. The use of coriander gives it a spicy character. Golden in colour with a fruity, bittersweet taste.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast; Coriander

Great beer both in appearance and flavor. Pours nice and dark, drinks light and fruity with subtle yeast undertones. Don’t let the alcohol creep up on you, as it is very well hidden.

Cloudy orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma is apricots, alcohol and yeast. Taste is spicey and as aroma. Full bodied, alcohol is pretty noticable but that’s OK. Good stuff.

330ml brown bottle split with gilvanblight. Poured a nice shade of glowing orange, only a light layer of foam on top, tan in colour, somwhat clingy and sticky. Strong banana aroma. Flavour is sweet with some oranges, cloves with a long finish.

Bottled. Cloudy orange colour with an off-white head. Sweet flavour dominated by citrus and spices. Sweet flavour of fruits, citrus and spices with yeasty notes. Not much bitterness. Nice triple.

K24J2 bottle code. 750ml bottle that has been in my cellar for at about 2 years. Served in a small chalice. Aroma is yeast, vanilla, lemon, honey, light caramel, with hints of apple. Copper colored with a small and fluffy head. Well carbonated. Huge mouthfeel at first. The initial taste is honey, fruit, yeast, floral followed by a rush of alcohol and black pepper that cleans up the beer. Overall a really nice beer. On a side note, I got a good dose of what I can only describe as their "house" taste, which is redolent of cobwebs, mold, and dust, but not in a bad way.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2012 Intense fruity aroma, apple, yeast, it has that nice vast latrappe kind of maltiness... Lot of fruit in the taste... but also some pleasant bitterness.. yeasty yet sweet aftertaste... one of the best beers from Holland... the quad is better though...

Fruity aroma, banana, alcohol. Malty, fruity (banana, citrusfruits), bubblegum, candisugar. Sweet for a triple.Finishes not very impressive ( a bit alcoholic) but still decent enough for my 100th rating!

Bottle aged one year. It’s a golden copper colour in a wine glass with a wonderful, thick white head. It’s held up nicely in the cellar. Aroma has a fair bit of oak with black cherry, currant, grape, plenty of grain, grass. Full body with decent carbonation. Plenty of malt in the flavour initially; it’s bready with grain and toasted malt with almond. This leads to more of the dark fruit, sweet grape, dark sugar with light background bitterness and a medium, slightly sweet finish.
