"A special and strong Trappist ale. The use of coriander gives it a spicy character. Golden in colour with a fruity, bittersweet taste.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast; Coriander

first trappist ale I’v ever had. It’s pretty good. very smooth and fruity. It has a nice color as well as alot of sediment that seems ’hang’ in the beer. Very nice brew.

Bottle from the SAQ served in a trappist glass. Poured a hazy and dark golden with a medium head that vanishes quickly. aroma is sweet malt, spices and alcohol. Taste is spicy and sweet. woth a good dose of malt and some bitterness in the aftertaste. Not as rich as the quadruple, but very good anyway.

Bottle. My personal favorite of the la trappe offerings. Pours a hazy golden body with a white head. lots of fruit, orange, lemon, and apple. Yeast spiciness and a moderate alcohol warming. Good stuff.

Slightly murky amber color with pillowy half inch off white head. Excellent lacing. Right out of the bottle the aroma was nice ripe banana. Later the sweet malt, sugar and a hint of yeast spiciness entered the aromatic picture. Solid Belgium flavor of brown sugar, plums, apple juice, banana, grapes, dry malts and yeast. The finish is dry and not too sweet. Very tasty.

Hazy amber with medium short lasting head. Fruity and sweet aroma wtih yeast and oranges. Sweet flavor with flowers, toffee and fruits. Well balanced and vinous with discrete alcohol touch.

Amber colour with a big and tanned foamy head. Yeasty, sweet caramel aroma with raisins. Fruity flavour with hints of raisins, licorace and sourness. Dry long fruitish aftertaste. Smooth palate.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2011 Most surprising beer at Trappist tasting 5/8/08 Colorado Springs. Nice golden appearance but the thing that got me right off was the nose. This is definitely the malt brother of the Quad, which I love. Fruit and light toffee, banana, rum, and sugar cookies. Taste is very close, though reduced some. Finish is bitterish which is nice for a beer this loaded with flavor. The Westmalle has better balance and subtlety, but I think I may choose this in a pinch over that classic and not have too many regrets.

Pours a cloudy dark amber with a thick creamy off-white head that goes away slowly leaving behind some fantastic lacing. Beautiful! Lots of aroma coming through. Caramel malt, fruit, spice, yeast, and grain. Similar flavor. Very sweet at first but turning bitter toward the finish. Really a good Trippel.
