COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. This ale owes its crisp and spicy character to the use of coriander and other spices and herbs, as well as to post-fermentation in the bottle. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast; Coriander. 17.5°

Up front: I’m biased towards tripels. Hands down my favorite style of ale. This beer displayed an exceptionally smooth taste with hints of fruit. The flavor was not overpowering and in general, this beer came off as a solid choice for those of you who enjoy the taste of ALE rather than the accents involved in any given ale.

Synthetic cork and caged 750 ml bottle. Clouded orangey yellow, off-white foam fades fast. Aroma is spicy yeasty, peachy fruity. Taste is fairly spicy and yeasty, apricot and peachy fruity, mildly sweet and malty. Average carbonation, medium slightly oily body, lightly hopped. ABV is perceptable, lightly bitter finish. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Expectation from this beer was kinda "possibly best tripel yet". Aroma of coriander is clean and noteworthy. Sheer, if you like this spice. Spicy aroma with hints of hops. Full body. This is what i like the most from this beer. MAlty bitterness is too distinguished and ... doesn’t math this beer as for me. Below expectations :(

Bottle 33cl. Dark golden with a small white head. Aroma of banana, sweet malt and trappist yeast. Rich taste, sweet but has a slight bitter finish, not strong though.

Bottle from old backlog notes 07. Pours a clear orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, fruit, pear, banana, peaches, some peppery spice, honey with light floral notes. Decent, lighter bodied.

Smell is very pleasant and strong-lile. Pours foggy blond with almost no jead. Taste is very mild, with low carbomatioin but with a feel of big alcohol content at the end. A sour aftertaste stays with wgile you drink.

33cl bottle bb05-2016 from source. Again, as in their blonde, banana weighs in heavy in both aroma and taste, something I associate with Weizenbocks this heavy and donot really appreciate in a tripel wih potential of more yeast ester complexity. Some overly clean alcohol in the nose and a boring mouthfeel again make this a boringly textbook rendition. Even some refined white sugar in the taste...too sweet without adding any complexity. Dry banana peel finish, dominant hop spice. Not in the same league in terms of artistic depth as many other trappists.

Bottle 33cl. Lovely dark yellow beer with nice white top. Lots of CO2. Sweet aroma reminds me of bananas. Taste is somewhat complex but still easily drinkable, aftertaste is sweet.

Buona tripel, anche se sinceramente ne ho assaggiate di meglio. Comunque da provare...
