COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
La Trappe Tripel’s aroma is slightly malty and estery. Despite its full, rich flavour, this out-of-the-ordinary ale still has a light and dry aftertaste with a touch of bitter finesse.
Ingredients: Water; Barley malt; Hops; Yeast. 17.5°

Rich sweet, butterscotch nose. Similar up front flavour with a touch of fruitcake spice and jaffa. Commercial but drinks well....

This 330ml bottle was dated best before August 2016. There was also a bottled date code 09:45 K04B14 which from what I’ve read on the multiple forums means at the very least, bottled on February 2014. It was poured into a Chimay goblet a hazy golden colour with a one finger white head which had good retention. Aromas of sweet honey with bready malts followed by fruity pear and a bit of alcohol. There was a clear alcohol taste at the beginning and end, but in between, there is honey, pear and some slight bitter lemon citrus. It was medium bodied with medium carbonation and a little creamy. Overall, it was a pretty good tripel. I liked that it was not too sweet, although the alcohol taste is quite prominent.

Pretty hard to get that cork off! Once opened though, poured a nice off-white head with large bubbles. Mildly carbonated. Has a medium golden appearance. Moderate lacing. Aroma is wheaty, and notes of vanilla. Getting some roasted malts in the flavour along with hints of caramel, hops, various mild spices and herbs. Some bitterness at the start but gives way to a smooth velvety mouthfeel. Good stuff.

Bottle from carrefour@calais, France. Amber beer with small residual head. Aroma of spices, a touch of banana skin and malts. Taste is spices, malts, some yeast and a little caramel. Good amount of fizz on the palate. Good stuff.

L’excellente ’’maison’’ Trappe propose une Triple qui, étonnamment, reste il me semble un peu en retrait par rapport à certaines de ses autres productions (blonde, double, Isid’or). C’est une très bonne bière mais... (évaluation à retravailler)

Amber gold colour with white head. Aroma of roasted caramel, Barley malts, spices, citrus and coriander. The same are flavours, with sweet fruity notes, low carbonation. Good beer.

One of my favorite La Trappe beers. It has a typical taste for a Tripel, yet it has ’something’ that makes it special and will have you ordering more.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy pale golden with a white top. Aroma is sweet with hints of clove and apricot. Taste is lightly sweet. Some bitterness in the finish. Creamy mouthfeel, medium body, high co2.
