Bottle. Pale yellow, cloudy liquid with a large foam that disappears completely. Aroma is full of esters and phenols, with a lot of yeast and notes of banana and citrus. Taste is mostly of wheat, yeast and banana with some bitterness. A really nice, but not extraordinary, wit.

Imponerande skumkrona i klass med Duvel. Riktigt behaglig, svalkande, silkesspinnande. Perfekt som törstsläckare, utan att vara smak- eller menlös. Kvalitativ veteöl, även om den med fördel hade kunnat lösgöra ett tyngre artilleri av smaker, uttryckt nyanserna med större emfas.

Bottle from Systembolaget labeled as La Trappe Wit. Pale yellow beer with white head. Very faint aroma. Flavor has yeast and some banana. Very one-dimensional. Light palate. Although I didn’t expect much from this I got even less.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow colour. Medium carbonation with fine bubbles. Small head, nice. Citrus aroma and taste. I like that one on a warm day, will buy again!

Pale , hazy yellow colour. Big, creamy head. Yeasty and spicy citrus aroma. Thin mouth feel, sharp carbonation. Spicy flavour, lots of lemon zest. Probably a great summer drink, but now it’s November........

Flaske 0,33l kjøpt på Systembolaget i Kiruna og delt med Rune på Elsas Skibotn 31 Okt 09. Lys beige på farge. Høyt kremaktig skum som la seg etter noen minutter. Uklar. Syrlig citrus aroma med innslag av krydder. Smaken likeså. Litt mye kullsyre. Lang fruktig ettersmak av citrus. Tørr bitter avslutning. Forfriskende – og overhode ikke søt.

Bottle 33. Classic Witt beer with a hazy blanc colour and a big white head. Smell of citrus and soe astreingence can be detected, quite dry, aorma of agrumes. Less intresting than the other ales of La trappe.

Really happy to find this on draft at Binny’s Southloop. Pours a very hazy but see-thru light straw yellow with a medium thin white sudsy fluff. Smells like a nice witte, fair amount of lemon, crisp, yeasty. Flavor is quite nice and true to a wit, some chalky bitterness, sharp lemon cookie, a bit watery though, yeasty aftertaste. Neat to see the Koningshoeven yeast character shine through in a wit, has the same type of sweetness also. Medium bodied with crisp carbonation.
