COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The world’s first and only Trappist white ale that continues to ferment slightly after bottling. Brewed using only water, wheat, and hops. No herbs are added. Saphir hops give the ale its citrusy aroma. A real thirst-quencher on a hot summer’s day that also makes for a delicious drink at any other time of the year.

0930 First of the day at Cafe Rembrandt Corner. Sin g the song of proper glassware in the morning. I left my map back at the hotel so I was forced to divine my way to the Rembrandt house......I knew I was close when I saw the Rembrandt Corner cafe. Its right next door so it was the place to kill a half an hour till the museum opened. A sloppy pour by the barkeep....no matter. Dense foam that lightly breaks into even spotted lacing. A touch of chill haze on the medium deep golden body. Ahh gentle wheat beer...how I do love thee. A zingy hop tone starts early and replaces the zest and spice I expect in a wit. Well balanced and even start to finish

Opaque light gold, strong white head. Yeasty wheat, malt and some hoppiness (I’d call it Saaz, but it probably isn’t (I’ve located my eyes and realize it’s Saphire). Yeasty sourness with some bitter hop notes. Finishes bitter with slight dryness. Quite different from most Wits - and quite nice!

On tap at In de Wildeman in Amsterdam in 2009 rated from notes. Served in a weizen glass it was a beautiful soft cloudy gold with a fluffy white head leaving behind great lacing. The aroma//flavor was a fairly standard weizen vearing more towards spicy cloves which is what I enjoy. A satisfying standard white beer.

Yellowish colour with stable white head. So white I am suspitious of tetrahop usage but dont think so really. Yeasty aroma with some fruits. It is a good beer but I wont become a regular consumer of this one.
