Brewed at De Graal for the Compagnia del Luppolo (Bergamo, IT). Quite different from La Luppolosa, despite the same ABV.

Good, just off-white head over pale, greyish, slighly hazy yellow beer. Vanilla and the equivalent of astringency in the nose; maybe a touch of coriander and definitely white candy sugar. Surprisingly soft-sweet but with a very distinct citrus touch - like a very sweet grapefruit, pomelo or suchlike. It’s sweet, but very fine - reminding me of some of the Mortal’s beers; patisserie beer, delicate. Finishes a bit duller, however. Slick, falsely bodied and very good attenuation. Unfortunately, the flavours fade away too soon, leaving little or no aftertaste. No mistake, quite good beer. But, because of the origin, I’m missing... Humulus Lupulus...
Mille grazie to the Compagnia, who thought me worthy of their brainchild!

Bottled. A slightly hazy dark golden beer with a thin bubbly beige head. The aroma has strong notes of fruit, as well as medium notes of alcohol, and dusty hops. The flavor is sweet with with notes of alcohol, malt, and spices - can’t but names to them, leading to a dry spicy and alcoholic finish. Not that crazy about it. Thanks fiulijn for sharing.

As it sister La Luppolosa 2008, this bottle as well is a gusher; it pours therefore a muddy deep blond color with floating particles; because of the high carbonation there is a thin persistent head. The aroma is pungent, herbal (heather) and spicy (juniper), beyond the acceptable. The body is less strong than expected; there is some malt flavor, lightly spicy (coriander and juniper) and very lightly herbal; low bitterness and quite evident alcohol presence. Confused.
