Got this 75cl bottle from Belgian Beer Station. La Trouffette is a series of very typical beers from Brasserie de Bastogne. La Trouffette Brune pours a very clear and very beautiful red brown beer topped with a fizzy, moderate and beige head. It leaves little lacing on the glass and it reduces quickly to a thin layer. Very fine carbonation. The smell very malty with touches of spices and fruits. The taste is complex, malty with hop bitterness. The aftertaste is bitter and fairly dry. Minty effect. Sweet touch and a clear alcohol presence. Overall a nice beer. It has less character than the other Trouffette beers.

Bottle, bought @ Belgian Beer Station. Pours clear deep chestnut with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has caramel, sweet milky chocolate. Low carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has roasted malts, chocolate, raisins, caramel. Quite fine malty bitter finish.

Huge light-brown head over very dark-red beer; patches of lace. Quite perfumed nose with undergrowth aromas, earthy, dark malts, felt. Bitter, even wry-woody, overlying more sweet malts. Mainly earthy, leafy, wood, tannine-rich. Not bad! Very wood, spiced throughout, generating a very dry beer, with nearly a dry-out effect. Medium bodied, bit sticky after swallowing all the same. Another very nice beer from this new (?) brewery.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a hazy amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma of caramel and friendly phenols. Medium body, caramel, brown sugar and overripe fruits. Very discreet bitterness. A friendly little Belgian. 240610
