3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheBeerWatcher (10) - Arlon, BELGIUM - MAR 20, 2012
Got this 75cl bottle from Belgian Beer Station.
La Trouffette is a series of very typical beers from Brasserie de Bastogne.
La Trouffette Brune pours a very clear and very beautiful red brown beer topped with a fizzy, moderate and beige head. It leaves little lacing on the glass and it reduces quickly to a thin layer. Very fine carbonation.
The smell very malty with touches of spices and fruits.
The taste is complex, malty with hop bitterness. The aftertaste is bitter and fairly dry. Minty effect. Sweet touch and a clear alcohol presence.
Overall a nice beer. It has less character than the other Trouffette beers.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (4413) - Enghien, BELGIUM - MAR 20, 2011

@Mondial de la Bière 2010, Strasbourg - slightly hazy brown coloured with a solid beige foam left; malty and biscuity aroma with a touch of ginger; rounded palate and a medium malt backbone; slightly dry and short malty finish; a hint of grapefruit and a buttery tone in the aftertaste - a nice balance
