(Bottled, 0.75l) Very dark brown with a small, lacy head. Spicy nose with anise and licorice. Flavor is lightly roasty, anise-licoricey, neutral-malty, moderately hoppy. Medium body, low carbonation. Neutral and balanced, but not very memorable. 4345

Bottle, bought @ Willems, Grobbendonk.
Pours dark brown with a small, creamy off-white head that leaves fine laces. Aroma has fine milky chocolate, light raisins and plums. Estery notes and hazelnuts. High carbonation, fine creamy and actually a bit light mouthfeel. Flavour is simple at first, some caramel sweetness, chocolate and plums. But a great dry cocoa-like malty bitterness sets in with a slight warming viniousness. Nice.

750 ml bottle. From Belgium. Courtesy of mjs. Merci beaucoup! Dark brown colour with big light tan head. Malt, caramel and yeast in aroma. Mild sourness, caramel sweetness, malt, sugar and alcohol. (Bottle, 0.75 l - bought at the 16th Kerstbierfestival, 20120310) A gusher. The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was quite large and lightly brown. Aroma had caramell, raisins, cardboard, Belgian style yeast and hint of roasted malts. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were caramell, Belgian style yeast, raisin, mildly roasted malts, hint of sourness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was dry, mildly sour and bitter. The mild sourness made this beer worse but it had also good parts.

#1257 draught; nose is sweet leather, some bittersweet malt, roasted malt, cream, burnt wood, later rye, feel is mediumwatery, carb is mediumheavy, taste is smoke, umami, fig, velvet earth, roasted mediumsweet malt

75cl bottle. Pours a dark brown with an offwhite frothy head. Smells of toffee, nuts, candi sugar, some spice and lots of malt. Tastes of coffee and chocolate. Medium sweetness, medium lasting bitter. Very creamy. Soft carbonation.

Bottle. Matoon brown color, huge beige head, solid lacing. Aroma of coffee grounds. Taste is smooth coffee with s burnt edge. Not bad.

draft @ Delirium, Brussels. Cuivrée tirant vers l’ambré trouble, col beige. Arôme est agréable, malté avec un beau bouquet épicé rappelant la cardamone et en retrait ce malt grillé. En bouche, je note ce côté houblonné américain que l’on retrouve dans quasi toutes les bières de cette brasserie. Notes épicées allant de la cardamone à la réglisse, cannelle avec une touche d’eucalyptus. Palais est épais et très agréable, pointe de houblon vient donner un peu de citron. Le tout garde un beau profile malt/grillé.

Bottle. Pours a murky reddish brown color with a ring of white head. Light aroma and sweet grains. Flavor is sweet, grainy and bready. Some fruity notes with yeast. Roasty finish.

On tap on Place Luxembourg. Dark brown with thin head. Nose of sweet annis. Taste is caramel, Quite syrupy. Nice. Sweet finish.

(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy brown body with a medium dense beige head. Aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, spruce, caramel, anise, and citrus. Flavor of raisins, nutmeg, caramel, nuts, and cinnamon.
