4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jbrus (4990) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - MAY 14, 2005
Very citrus lemon and hoppy aroma. Looks great! Golden, large white growing head, good lace. Sweet, citrus, lots of hops, bitter. Very soft, alcohol well present and even burning in your throat. A beter La Chouffe I’d say.

Better than "Big brother" La Chouffe. Even more flavour, spicy. Available in Vielsalm (café Le Bowling, Spar, tourist office)
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Bloekie (191) - BELGIUM - AUG 11, 2009
Blonde acidic beer with a nice white frothy head. Aroma is sweet but not altogether complicated. Flavor is very "dark" for a blond beer. Very "belgian strong ale"-like. Palate is really refined, you start of with a bitter hop/malt taste, after which an incredible sweetness washes through your mouth finished of with a nice dry bitterness. Leaves you very refreshed and pleased.
Quite surprised this doesn’t score much higher, maybe it’s cause it seems "retired".

28/III/2012 - 33cl bottle from little supermarket (Vielsalm) @ home - BB: 31/VIII/13 (2012-297)
Clear golden beer, big creamy white head, stable, adhesive with nice lacing. Aroma: very malty sweet, some corn, grasssy hops, pretty spicy and herbal. MF: good carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: sweet maltiness first, with some citrus and other fruits, then it turns into a grassy herbal bitterness with citrus beneath. Aftertaste: nice grassy to peppery bitterness with a note of alcohol. Well done, I love this kind of Belgian beer. Also: retired? Don’t think so!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ernest (5187) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 17, 2005
Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy
medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie,
toasted bread), moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), moderately yeasty
(cobwebs), with notes of coriander, pineapple, clove, alcohol. Flavor is
moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly
sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety
texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Lovely Belgian
golden, the telltale Achouffe house character is in abundance (love
their yeast), with a great balance of juicy malt and hops. Alcohol
sticks out just a bit too much. Akin to La Chouffe and Kwelchouffe.

Pale golden straw coloured beer with a very creamy sticky white head. Very light spicy aroma. Some white pepper over a dusty and earthy oak character. Lovely bright spiciness. Light mint and soft apricot. Very vibrantly spicy with some wheatiness and a zesty noble hop character. Light fruitiness on the back. Soft tropical notes. A lovely tripel-esque brew.
