beerbuzzmontreal (2674), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Oct 15, 2007 Sampled from a growler. Nice aroma of fruity hops and malt. Pours a cloudy golden color with a thin white head. Good flavor of fruity hops with malt and a bitter finish. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. Nice hoppy aroma, good malts also, opaque yellow/orange, a small custard head. Tastes kicks off with orange hops, malt does a fine job underpinning. Medium bodied, fabulously bitter, chewy, almost chunky. A fine example! mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 30, 2007 Growler.
Pours a translucent gold body with a small white head. Smells of grapefruit sweetness, orange resin, and bread. Leafy orange hop flavour, soft biscuit malts...finishing with assertive lingering bitterness. Very drinkable. Glouglouburp (1876), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 22, 2007 Got to try this out of town brewpub beer thanks to goldorak who for once instead of being a big growler brought one home. Intensely citrusy aroma. Body is pleasantly light, well-malted but light. The malts are only slightly caramelized. The hopping is very nice. Lots of aromatic citrusy hops leading to a very flavourful bitterness of medium intensity. Everything about that beer screams high-drinkability. Refreshing thirst quencher session beer at its best. Goldorak (424), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 14, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. I brought home a growler that wasn’t as good, but still held up very well
Dark blonde going on bronze with a great meringue that had little thick islands of head kind of like "iles flottantes". Nice cling too!
Very C-hop oriented aroma, pine and grapefruit mostly, but with a bit of roasted coffee in there to give it an interesting twist.
A solid IPA just the way I like them, with enough of a malty foundation to withstand the hop attack - I’d be curious to know the IBUs on this one. Finish is strangely both dry and sweet, sort of like when you eat cotton candy.
And to think Qc had no IPAs only a few years ago, we seem to be catching up really well!
