MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 17, 2007 Any first impressions?
-A veil of foam stands atop the cloudy orange-beige.
-Aroma’s pretty weak, barely offering any minty, herbal spiciness, and doughy yeast.
-Yeast is much more talkative once tasted, as the cranberries soar to offer plenty of juicy fruitiness and tartness.
-The smooth yet lively effervescence and svelte maltiness make up your usual Belgian witbier mouthfeel.
What if you dig deeper?
-Citrusy tartness creates even more interest in the finish.
-Feeble banana esters are found under the cranberry fruitiness in both aroma and flavor profile.
-This was a fun witbier experiment, but it didn’t shine nearly as brightly as the base witbier, called Muse.
On tap at the brewpub.
