| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 5, 2005 Translucent and light brown, with decent lacing. Good, deep malty smell with some spices thrown in for good measure. A candi sugar and caramel malt sweetness and good carbonation. Not my favorite from them by any means, but a solid effort that I would gladly sample again. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2004 Very light off-white head covers a deep appealing copper body with orange and ruby hints. Murky - Great color. Nutmeg and oregano stands out in the spicy aroma. On the tongue, it’s tart and leafy with a cranberry and rhubarb fruity and vegetal acidity. Pretty good take on the style. I’ve never been overly impressed with dubbels, but this is an above average example, if tart and spicy, it is also quite candyish, fruity (peach) caramelic, buttery and highly herbal. Medium body is highly carbonated and lets express more fruitiness in the finish, fig and pomegranate like. Very good as with all their seasonals.
