A dark reddish brown ale with a thin lacing moka head. A light sweet caramel malt aroma with light fruity esters. In mouth, intense torrefied malt, nutty, nougat, roasted coffee in finale. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied. An intense real brown ale. On tap at Vices Versa, Dec. 16 2006. with ProbstK.

On tap at Vices & Versa. The color is dark brown with very littje head. The taste had some sweetness to it but for me it was to watered down. As for the alcohol % well it just did not help.

Bu à Vices et Versa en fut, sous le nom de Brown Ale (12 oz). Brune foncé un peu brumeux, collet moyen. Arome de malte caramelisé très plaisant. Petit goût caramelisé simple mais plaisant, légêrement amère. C’est bon!

(tap at Vices & Versa) Dark brown body with ruby highlights topped by a very small beige head. The aroma has some molasses and raisins. The body was very watery with very little in the way of flavours. Some dark fruits, basic malt-caramel, a bit peppery and maybe a little nutty flavour if I focus very hard. I even got a little alcohol presence (at 6%!!!) thanks to the empty body. Coming from this good brewpub this was disappointing to the point of wondering if there was something wrong with the glass I was served. The beer is named after a quebecois swear and Joualvere is what I said on my first sip after paying $6 for a glass of that stuff.
