2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Metalchopz (1429) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 10, 2011
Originally rated October 2006. Sampled at the pub itself, in Jonquière, Quebec. This one was very close to being the Muse witbier they brew, but had slight changes. The nose was sour, and the taste was actually quite smokey, which made this beer really interesting and better than they other.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MartinT (6350) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 17, 2007
UPDATED: AUG 3, 2007 Second try, still at the brewpub:
The Belgian character of this Weizen was still present, and in fact the funky yeastiness I so loved in their Muse was present here too (but wasn’t 6 months ago). Tropical fruit and this citric, wild yeast blended admirably, and summer quenching was reached, and much more! 3.7/5
First try:
Any first impressions?
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy pale yellow; an obvious wheat beer appearance.
-Clovey phenols rise above the otherwise discreet aroma.
-Milkiness runs through the hay, as tartness makes its quenching.
-The creamy mouthfeel is aptly carbonated, but doesn’t carry enough flavors to really be interesting.
What if you dig deeper?
-Some banana esters are found in the nose and flavor profile.
-Fruity bubblegum sweetens the spectrum.
-Citrus fruit evolves from the tartness.
-This quenching German wheat does have its Belgian leanings, but in any case it remains a lightly spicy and fruity generic "blanche" to me.
On tap at the brewpub.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Ungstrup (24026) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 21, 2005
A pale yellow beer with a disappearing white head. I wonder if it is the slim glass it is sampled in, that gives it the pale yellow color. The aroms is sweet wheaty, and the flavor is sweet wheaty with light citrus notes. At the brewpub I was told it was a German Weizen, which it is not, so the listing here is the correct one, but it doesn’t have much spice for a Belgian Wit. I am disappointed.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 17, 2005
Wheat malt, hay, cereal and a light citrus tone to the mildly spicy aroma. Opaque yellow body is topped with a decent white head that recedes to cover with some lacing. Citrus tone to the simple wheaty flavour with spiciness appearing at the finish. Light body with carbonation that is a bit too low for this style. Sampled at the brewpub with Oakes, Rastacouere and Ungstrup.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Daytona00 (124) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 6, 2005
Drank a pint of this one at Voie Maltee pub. This is a witbier. Cloudy texture. Interesting nose. Good taste with a sour finish. Not the best white I’ve tried but a good one.
