czar (4259) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 19, 2013
on tap at festibière de québec. hazy light brown with a small off-white head, some retention. intense bourbon notes along with booze, light acidity - also tannins, red fruitiness, spices - although belgian character has disappeared, overshadowed by strong bourbon presence, butter - diacetyls, cardboard, oak, hint of smoke. moderate to low carbonation, light to medium body - oily and boozy, harsh grassy-spicy-piney finish. no improvement from initial non barreled brew combined to a barrel misuse. DP.
