Sampled at GABF 2015. In the tasting glass was black with a light tan cap of foam. Nose of chocolate and coffee. Medium in body. Flavor was rich with roasted malts and shows lots of the chocolate and coffee. Smooth and bitter chocolate finish. Darn nice.

Super dark pour, beige head. Sweet lacto aroma, milk chocolate, chocolate bread. Flavor is sweet and lacto forward(as expected)cocoa, roast. One of the 2 decent beers here.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours with a near black body with a large tan head and good lace. Aromas are dusty, cocoa, roast, light coffee, bready, medium esters and earthy. Flavors show medium earth, leather, soil, toasty, bitter, medium roast, light lactose and a hint of anise. Some lingering coffee, medium bubbles with a fuller body. Pretty good, but for their darker beers, the Java Porter gets my vote.
