COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Contains all the distinguishing features of a true ale, including a good balance of dryness, complemented by a fruity taste and unique hop flavouring.

Suprisingly better than I would have expected. Having grown up on Canadian and Blue, this is similar, but slightly better.

Labatt 50 is a beer for old men. Being in my 20’s, I find myself enjoying Old Man beers every so often, and this one is a classic example. Nothing outstanding and unique, just a solid ale with some sour taste. This is a staple of Toronto indie music venues. For the best Labatt 50 experience, drink it from a can while watching something on TV that makes you mad. Perfect.

A golden ale with a thin white head. A typical lager aroma. But in mouth, the malt is present, and there are some hops in this. Very pleasant for a Labatt product. Jan. 2007.

had this as labatt canadian ale in a bottle. i might even like this better than labatt blue. a pretty good blonde, easy to drink, solid malt flavor.

12oz brown bottle from Florian’s. Translucent yellow body with a half an inch to an inch of white head that dissipates quickly. Smells sweet and slightly fruity. Tastes sweet, malty, with a hint of DMS, and no hops to speak of. Very clean finish. Light-bodied, drinkable. Very inoffensive. Nothing really special, about on par with Molson Export (which I imagine this was put out to compete with). But nothing I wouldn’t have again if the alternative selection and price were right.

Bouteille. Couleur or clair, très mince mousse qui reste. Arôme de céréales assez faible. Goût légèrement malté, légèrement houblonné. Arrière-goût faible, mais présent. Effervescence moyenne. Corps faible à moyen. Faiblesse des saveurs équilibrée... Somme toute correcte, ça se boit bien.

This was purchased because it was cheap. It is an okay beer, but I prefer Labatt Blue over this any day.

Again this one is only marginally better than other macro swill, but I would only drink it when there are really no other good options.
