1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 tiggmtl (4467) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 30, 2004
Mild hops and creamed corn in the aroma. Clear golden straw colour with thin white head that recedes to cover but does last. Mildly sweet malt flavour with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Light refreshing palate. Overall - boring but inoffensive. Bottle.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2004 Re-Rate 99 cents at Premier Gourmet, bought this as Labatt Canadian Ale and only discovered the little "50" mark on the label after cracking it open. Oh well. Golden yelllow body with a small white head. Cereally alcoholic aroma. Sweetish grainy character. Surprising alcohol presence. Light palate. Doesn’t really tast like the 50 I am used to, but I don’t really drink it often either. 4/3/4/2/8 <P> Original Rating Bit of hops in fizzy yellow water. I’d drink it over a lot of other macros but I wasn’t thrilled with this. 3/3/3/3/8
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Duke (117) - New York, USA - FEB 22, 2004
No real aroma aside from skunky beer. Sparkly clear with a fizzy white head. The beer does have some hop bitterness.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2006 Actually I was pretty impressed with this beer. It had a nice flavor and it went down real smooth.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Crockett (916) - Steelback County, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 30, 2004
Super-carbonated, gold, tiny head. Sweet grassy, pond water aroma. Odd taste sour light yeast and dry. Not much of an ale. Old man beer, strangely enough my girlfriend's favorite. Who knew?

UPDATED: MAR 11, 2004 My favorite "slumming it" beer. The only thing that really makes it different from other domestic offerings is its odd hint of pudding. Other than that, it's not much to look at or savor.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Stauffenberg (6) - New York, USA - JAN 19, 2004 does not count
The best thing Labatt ever brewed, which isn't saying much. It has some bitterness which follows through to an after taste that may not suit all palates. Better than the average garden variety beers from the Big Breweries.
