I can’t tell if the marketing/packaging makes me slightly favor the green over the blue, or if I actually can taste a fuller, warmer malt presence. But this stuff is pretty prevalent in grocery stores around Michigan and a decent cheap six for a party or outdoor adventure.

If there’s no Molson ’Ex’ at the bar, I’ll grab a ’50’. Very similar to Sleeman’s ’Cream Ale’ and Molson’s ’Ex’. Enjoyable.

Beer snobs (i.e., people who only drink six-syllable German porters brewed by Trappist monks) might knock it, but 50 is one of the best mass-produced beers available in North America. It’s a great hoppy ale for people who like good beer, but also like to drink a lot of beer.

As my Labatt 50 drinking friend once said, ’If I drank something else, I might like it too much and become an alcoholic’

Ultra-bland golden ale, a perfect complement to Labatt’s line of ultra-bland golden lagers.
