1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20 Damico (1222) - Royersford, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 5, 2008
This golden ale tasted like nothing, well in comparison to the usual dank beers that I rate on this website. It was a very light flavored beer that had no more flavor than a pilsener style beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 AaronBouchard (150) - Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, CANADA - JUL 17, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2008 40 oz bottle from an IGA in Quebec City. Pours slightly darker then Labatt’s flagship brand blue. Floral tasting micros are truely my favorites and this fits the bill perfectly. I like beers that most people bash on this site.I think it is pretty close tasting to Molson Dry if I remember correctly. Labatt 50 used to be Canada’s top selling beer before blue. Fresh tasting and I wish we had it here in Nova Scotia.
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Odyn (265) - New York, USA - JUL 13, 2008
sort of a basic time killer from Labatt. generic gold color and aroma with some taste, though nothing to write home about. Sort of non-dememo and all around not terribly good. Stick to Molson for macro Canadian brews.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 hiphop (84) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 19, 2008
When you’re at a bar and the only other options are Blue, Blue Light, Canadian, Bud, and Bud Light, go with Labatt 50. It tastes like beer and metal.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 shendrix (478) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 18, 2008
I guess the 50 in the name refers to a highly optimistic estimation of the odds of me ever buying this boring ass beer. The nose is a slight hint of malt. The palate, such as it is, is a bit of copper maltiness and a mild hint of weedy hops. Not good enough to be terrible.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20 phishpond417 (2089) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 4, 2008
A typical boring blonde ale that pours a dull orangeish colour with a full head with a large malted mouthfeel. A slightly bitter finish with a grainy aftertaste.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 dkazuk (248) - winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - MAY 3, 2008
341ml bottle.
Clear golden yellow pour with a small white head that bubbles off shortly. Taste of very restrained alcohol, yeast, and malts but a little less so on the nose. No "dryness" or "unique hop flavouring" as is stated. Something a bit different, coming from a name like Labatt but not terribly good.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 fredthecat (252) - CANADA - MAR 19, 2008
the best one out of the always available beers at bars, tastes like a bunch of old fruits, but dried out. too expensive to buy from the store though, and not as good on draught.
