Bottle waiting for a lift in Mt Tremblant CA. Pale golden body with a dry bitter aftertaste. Body is thin and a hint of wet paper in the flavor. Eh.

1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 Ernest (5187) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 29, 2003
Head is initially small, fizzy, white, fully diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted bread), lightly hoppy (flowers), with a hint of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Finish is moderately bitter, husky, unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation, metallic. Poor balance, dirty/grainy aftertaste, metallic, ugh.

Bottled. Grainy and light citrus aroma. Pale yellow color, small white head diminishing fast leaving no lace. Maltsweet, grainy, light bitter, bit sparkling, dull.
1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 JPDIPSO (4957) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 12, 2007
Straw color with a smallish but stable off-white head. My first impression of the aroma was of rotting flowers. I think that might be a bit harsh. Actually some light dough and sour mash along with a touch of alcohol and stomach acid. Like a malt liquor light in scent. The aromas deliver the flavors. Light malt, corn, and mild alcohol. Corn meal all over the place in this one. Mush and grits malt liquor light. Blah.
1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 HogTownHarry (4873) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 19, 2005
Bottle (341ml). At The Glue Pot Pub, Ottawa. So I’m surrounded by Quebecers bitching - in English! - about how much Ontario sucks, as they are finishing their JOBS in Ontario for the day, drinking crap beer in an Ontario bar, and ... ah, what’s the use. Poured oily clear bubbly gold, an average mostly white lasting foamy-creamy head. Aroma was mild, sweet corn and other grains, not much in the way of hops but also no chemical adjuncts in the nose. Taste - almost none! Grassy, vaguely sweet, no hops at all, hardly any grain, flavour vanished in a millisecond - I could have been drinking water, which is exactly what the palate on this non-starter is. Overall very disappointing - I was expecting something grainy and chest-hair growing, what I got was .... nothing. Even a bad aftertaste would be an improvement.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Dogbrick (4843) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - FEB 7, 2005
Decided to give this one a shot because of a $1.00 price tag for a single. I guess I got my money’s worth. Pours a clear golden color with mild bubbles. Medium thin white head and minimal lacing. The aroma is vaguely sweet with nothing really distinguishing itself. Light-bodied with a pretty bland flavor of mild hops and sweet corn. Luckily nothing offensive in there. The finish is crisp, dry and pretty much flavorless aside from the faintest hops bitterness. All said, it’s a Labatt by any other name.

I just liked the green label. Mine was called Labatt Candian Ale. Light gold color with a small head. Looks like a pilsner in my glass. Has a malty asparagus smell. Light taste. Nothing offensive about this, but nothing to make it stand out either.

Mild hops and creamed corn in the aroma. Clear golden straw colour with thin white head that recedes to cover but does last. Mildly sweet malt flavour with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Light refreshing palate. Overall - boring but inoffensive. Bottle.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 DuffMan (4434) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 18, 2006
Good ole 50! Has sentimental place in my heart, but I will try to be objective in my assessment. Plae golden yellow, moderate head with poor retention. Grainy and appley aroma. Fairly bland palate, but there is a whiff of fruity hop character there. In addition, I find this finishes very cleanly. A macro lager that doesn’t offend.
